Healthcare Game Development

Healthcare games, a subset of serious games, are revolutionizing medical education and patient care.

These games serve as innovative tools for medical professionals, enhancing learning and understanding of complex medical concepts. They also play a vital role in patient education, engagement, and even in physical and cognitive rehabilitation, making healthcare more accessible and engaging.

About Me

I have a PhD at the SEMM school (European School of Molecular Medicine) in Bioinformatics & Molecular Evolution.

I have a biological and medical background and five years of experience in programming on unix system. I am interested in projects related to the analysis of genomes, the analysis of networks generated from biological data and the development of bioinformatics software and medical game art outsourcing.

For adidas Boost @ Grattacielo Pirelli - Projection Mapping, 2013

Pirelli Tower, a historic symbol of Milan and a milestone in contemporary architecture, for the first time ever has been at the stage of projection mapping.

At the launch of Adidas Boost in Italy, each of the 9000 square meters of the facade came to life, resulting in a show of monumental proportions. The building was shaken by vibrations of energy, bent, broken, torn, and even brought down.

The projections also accompanied the exhibition of Thomas Dold (vertical running world champion) who raced up the stairs of the 31 floors of the skyscraper reaching the top in less than four minutes, while the public was able to follow real-time data on its performance on the tower facade, transformed for the occasion into a giant screen.

Before and after the show, with the screening of live tweets and Instagram photos from the public, the building has become an antenna that reverberated expectations and reactions to the accomplishment of Dold.

The event has been realised in collaboration with RetroStyle Games

Unity3d for theatre - Workshop by recipient.cc

A workshop focusing on using Unity3D with the addition of an overview of the interaction between software and recognition of the presence of bodies on stage.

Unity 3D is a tool commonly used to create video games, here will be put at the service of the theatre for the creation of virtual sets and game backgrounds that can interact with the presence – physical and real – of the actors.

Introduction to the capturing techniques with the aid of various tools / open source software existing and in-depth use of Unity3D and its main features
(lights, objects, textures, timeline, programming, etc).

Testing of different input devices for the analysis of the movement of the actor on stage, including cameras, infrared and standard ones and the kinect.
The aim of the workshop is to bring actors and computer experts together understanding how can they use and experiment with new possibilities that arise from the interaction between technology and human expression, in order to create a high level shared experience among actor-machine-viewer.

Incredible Machine

A mechanism designed in a deliberately complex manner to perform simple or negligible operations.

Loosely based on the cartoons by Rube Goldberg, who used his engineering skills to create machines of this kind in many of his works.

In this case, Analog and Digital combine to give this “machine” the astonishing feature of Perpetual Motion!!
